2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
3 WASHINGTON, APPROVING AN EASEMENT TO PACIFIC NORTHWEST BELL
FOR COMMUNICATION LINE AND EQUIPMENT.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A
6 REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT:
7 Section 1. APPROVAL. The City Council hereby approves
8 the grant of an easement to Pacific Northwest Bell under the
9 terms and conditions of the Easement attached to this
10 Resolution, designated Exhibit A and incorporated by
11 reference. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute
12 the easement.
13 Section 2. RECORDING. Upon signing and approval of the
0 14 Easement by the Mayor and City Clerk, the City Clerk shall

® 15 have the Resolution and Easement recorded in the Office of the
,a5 King County Auditor, Records and Elections Division. The City
16
17 Clerk shall have a conformed copy of the recorded documents
18 sent to Pacific Northwest Bell after recording.
19 Section 3. AUTHORITY. The Mayor is hereby authorized to
20 implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary
21 to carry out the directives of this legislation.

The Auburn City Council adopted Resolution No. 2038 approving an easement to Pacific
Northwest Bell for communication line and equipment on February 5, 1990.
After recording I was instructed to mail to you a copy of the recorded easement.
Attached please find a copy of recorded easement 9003231027 for your records. I have
also sent a copy of Resolution No. 2038 recorded under 9003231008.

PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES March 20, 1989
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Those in attendance were
Chairman Don Kurle, Councilman Stacey Brothers, Councilman Pat Burns. Staff
in attendance were Public Works Director Frank A. Currie, City Engineer Mary
Seabrands, Operations Manager J. Armstrong, Street Supervisor Virgil Reynolds.
I. ISSUES
A. AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT ENGINEERING CONTRACT
John A. John Anderson had requested this item be from the agenda
pending further clarification of insurance requirements.
B. STREET DIVISION REPORT
Frank Currie reviewed with the Committee a funding status matrix
for the various funds available for street construction and
N.A. maintenance work. Several projects were discussed in detail, and
Virgil Reynolds displayed video tape of slurry seal and chip seal
Projects for 1988 and discussed the future program proposed for
1989.
C REQUEST FOR EASEMENT??BY4f& WEST T0EttINS'TAIaL SWITCHING CABINET
An easement has been requested from U.S. West in the vicinity of
Mary S. 30th and Auburn Way .North to install two switching cabinets. The
Committee had severalquestions regarding the location and its
proximity to the Slaughter Memorial; if other suitable sites were
available in the area; and whether the City should be charging for
an easement on City property. Staff will research the request and
report back to the Committee at a later meeting.

The request for out ofstate travel was approved.

Agenda The final pay estimate was approved and recommended for approval
to the Council.

C. WATER QUALITY CONSIDERATIONS
Due to several inquires over the last year, the Committee
J. Armstrong discussed in general, the process to implement additional
requirements for the City's water supply to provide fluoridation.
The staff will research State requirements and the process, and
report back. Due to Staff load and available manpower, this will
be late this year.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial Park Property
The attached communication and map indicates a request for an
easement for a telephone switching cabinet to be installed near
30th Street N.E. The Park Department has reviewed the location
and is willing to grant the easement , subject to Public Works
Department and Council approval. We recommend Committee approval
and preparation of an easement for execution by the Council .

Mr. Seabrands:
US West Communications formally Pacific Northwest Bell is interested in
obtaining a ten ft. (10') by twenty five ft. (25' ) easement on property
belonging to the City of Auburn as shown on the sketch attached.
US West will place two electronic switching cabinets on the easement.
The cabinets measure 66"h. x 78"w. x 27"d. US West will comply to the
following conditions:
1. Third party hold harmless to the City of Auburn.
2. Payment to the City of Auburn for a fence between City property and
Hi.tco property if required.
3. Reimburse the City of Auburn for the additional cost of landscape
around the easement area.
