I. CALL TO ORDER
HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES
February 28, 2022
The Human Services Committee meeting was called to order by at 4:07 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 via Zoom.
Committee Members present: Jason Berry, Janeane La Casse, Carmen Goers, Sue Miller, Shawn Parkhurst Paton, Erica Tomas Staff present: Human Service Program Coordinator- Kyla Wright Community Services Manager, Joy Scott Absent: Kelly Lindberg, Suzanne Pak
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Committee Vice-Chair moved to accept the October, November, and December 2021 meeting minutes in addition to January 2022 meeting
minutes. Committee Member Sue Miller seconded the motion. All committee members were in favor of adopting the minutes.
The October, November, and December 2021, and January 2022 meeting minutes were approved.
III. MISCELLANEOUS
• The meeting began with introductions and request to share what Committee members found useful from previous application cycles and/or what Committee members are looking forward to for this application cycle. A number of committee members noted that reviewing applications in small bites was useful in processing content
and that it was helpful to set aside time on a weekly basis to ensure enough time to read through the applications. Others shared that the discussion committee discussion was useful in gain additional perspectives on applications that they might not have noticed in their individual review. There was also mention that having the full
applications was helpful in understanding the scope of needs in the community and helpful in understanding context of other application in different priority areas. Committee members shared that in person application discussion would be helpful to better connect with other committee members and have fruitful discussion.
• Kyla facilitated an overview of the share1 website and application questions to provide background to what the applicants see and the
updates to the application questions. The virtual tour of the share1 site
included the brief overview of the upload templates for Program and Budget and the Supplemental Questions.
• Joy reviewed the overview of Auburn’s Supplemental Information
document and reviewed the funding amounts, assistance opportunities, priority areas, and minimum funding levels.
• Committee members also requested information on a return to in-person meetings later this year. Staff are looking into City meeting
spaces to safely accommodate the Committee and staff with technical capacity for hybrid attendance.
IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS
• Next meeting, March 28, 2022 via Zoom.
V. ADJOURNMENT
