Call to Order
The Urban Tree Board met at Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation at 2:00 pm.
Tree board members attending were Board Chair Bryce Landrud, Members Brooksie Donna Hall, James Tourangeau. Also present at the meeting were Parks Planning Manager Jamie Kelly, Horticulturist
Richard Valenti, Parks Maintenance Worker Trent Mannon and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.

The March minutes have been reviewed and approved by the board.
Correspondence/Public Input
Board Chair Bryce Landrud and Parks Maintenance Manager Mike Miller went and looked at a beaver dam near the Stuck River bridge. Bryce trimmed some trees, it appeared that most of the
dangerous trees, if they were to fail, would fall into the river. One tree was leaning toward the bridge.
Olympic Middle School had the trees removed that the board designated as Heritage Trees.
Old Business
G St Tree Planting – the funds have been disbursed for the year. Parks Maintenance considering covering from their annual budget. The species the board selected did not get approved
by Transportation Planner Joe Welsh. Will re-evaluate choices.
V. New Business
Board Recommendations/Input
Chair Landrud suggests a large plum tree on 2nd & D St NE. He estimates the age at 40 years old, but it’s a beautiful, well cared for tree. Richard Valenti suggests a Douglas Fir
at Auburndale Park for the fall selection.
Department Report
Richard Valenti suggests the following for future tree planting areas. 19th & 20th SE Loop, 18th St SE, I St SE, 12th – 17th St SE, J St SE, 17th & Auburn Way S.
