Call to Order
The Urban Tree Board met at Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation at 2:05 pm.
Tree board members attending were Chair Bryce Landrud, Members Jan Speer, Brooksie Donna Hall, James Tourangeau. Also present at the meeting were Horticulturist Richard Valenti, and
Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.

The October minutes have been motioned for approval by Jan Speer, Bryce Landrud seconds.
Correspondence/Public Input
Old Business
Chair Bryce Landrud suggests Jamie Kelly request funding for the G St Planting.
V. New Business
Arbor Day: Horticulturist Richard Valenti and Parks Planner Jamie Kelly to decide on location for Arbor Day Tree planting. Richard Valenti to supply 3 or 4 tree choices for the March
meeting.
Board Recommendations/Input
Board member Jan Speer will attempt to recruit a member for the open position.
Chair Landrud reminds the board about the 2018 Heritage Tree selection.
Department Report (Valenti)
Two spruce trees were removed from Les Gove Park for a Vietnam Memorial installation.
One damaged tree was removed from Lakeland Hills Park. $20,000 worth of plants have been planted, many at Clark Plaza where a new irrigation system is being installed. Damaged/destroyed
past Arbor Day trees have all been replaced as well with said funds. 4500 cuttings of geraniums have been placed in the green house for use this spring. This is a very frugal way
to utilize a large number of geraniums in the spring and summer as they are expensive.
