In Person & Virtual Meeting
I. Call to Order
The Urban Tree Board meeting began at 2:07 pm
Tree board members attending were Board Chair Bryce Landrud, Members Linda Bielejec, Tanya Galat,
Brooksie Donna Hall. Also present at the meeting were Auburn Garden Club member Barbara Smith and
Administrative Assistant Julie Mehl.
II. Minutes
The February minutes were approved.
III. Correspondence/Public Input
Auburn Garden Club member Barbara Smith updated the board on the Mason Bee project. The first year,
there were 150 bees and 9 houses. Year two increased to 450 bees and year three there are 1,200 bees
and 5 houses will be added. The new houses will be located at Fulmer, Dorothy Bothell, Game Farm, and
two at Veterans Memorial.

VI. Board Recommendations/Input
Chair Landrud shares background on Heritage Tree selection, Arbor Day planting and Tree City USA
designation to the board.
Julie will send a list of Heritage Trees to board members so they can visit, take photos and become
familiar with previous years selections. Bryce will then add history and tree characteristics for a more
thorough record of Heritage Trees.
Board member Bielejec requests we plant a memorial tree to honor Joyce Peloza’s life and contributions
to the City throughout the years.
