MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Menzia called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Members present: Chair Waylon Menzia, Vice Chair Jonathan Mulenga, Member
Savannah Lueck, Member Janine Park, and Member Briseyda Sandate.
Staff present: Deputy Mayor James Jeyaraj, and Director of Administration Dana
Hinman.
II. ANNOUNCEMENTS—There were no announcements.
III. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS—There were no agenda modifications.
IV. CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Member Park to approve the March 10, 2022 meeting minutes, second by
Vice Chair Mulenga. Motion carried unanimously.
V. DISCUSSION ITEMS
a. Community Events
Chair Menzia shared that he is on the committee for Auburn's Juneteenth Celebration.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12:00—5:00, located at Les
Gove Park.
Vice Chair Mulenga would the Jr..City Council to do a presentation at an upcoming
meeting of the Sound Cities Association (SCA).
Chair Menzia requested•that the Jr:City Council begin thinking about a youth festival for
later in 2022.

b. Advisory Committee
Chair Menzia and Vice Chair Mulenga will work on an email to go out to all the schools
by April 29th to recruit members for the Jr. City Council Advisory Committee.
The Jr. City Councilmembers will work together and decide how the Advisory Committee
meetings will be structured.
c. Update from Deputy Mayor Jeyaraj
Deputy Mayor Jeyaraj gave a City Council update that included: an appointment to the
Transportation Advisory Committee; Resolutions for the annexation of the Bridges
Property on Lea Hill; City of Auburn will reduce support for the City of Pacific technology
services; acceptance of grant funds to make improvements atI the Auburn Municipal
Airport.
VI. OLD BUSINESS
Director Hinman will confirm which Jr. City Councilmembers will attend Clean Sweep on
April 23, 2022.
Vice Chair Mulenga reminded the group that he serves on the Auburn Police Advisory
Committee, and to let him know if anyone has questions about the Auburn Police
Department.
New Jr. City Councilmember Savanna Lueck introduced herself and shared her
background to the group.
Member Park asked Deputy Mayor Jeyaraj about the upcoming school zone cameras
and also complimented Deputy Mayor Jeyaraj on his updates' She shared that the
updates help her talk to her parents about City of Auburn business.
VII. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Jr. City Council, the meeting
adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
