Minutes
Tuesday, February 8, 2022

In Person & Virtual Meeting
I. Call to Order
The Urban Tree Board meeting began at 2:05 pm
Tree board members attending were Board Chair Bryce Landrud, Members Linda Bielejec, Tanya Galat,
Brooksie Donna Hall and James Tourangeau. Also present at the meeting were Parks Horticulturist Trent
Mannon, and Parks Administrative Assistant Julie Mehl.
II. Minutes
The December minutes were approved.
III. Correspondence/Public Input

Bryce attended the City Council meeting in December to accept the proclamation on the Heritage Tree.

VI. Board Recommendations/Input
Tanya reported that Terminal Park Elementary will be removing 11 thirty year old oak trees as part of
construction of new school and would like to request that they try to save or re-plant trees in new
location.
Trent has agreed to remove Kousa Dogwood from Auburn resident Rosie Carolyn and re-plant at Lea Hill
Park. She also has a Roosevelt Rhododendron to donate.
Bryce would like the board to tour previous Heritage trees when everyone feels safe in a vehicle together.
VII. Department Report
Trent will get approval to purchase a Weeping Willow for the Covid remembrance tree. We will plant the
same day as the Arbor Day planting.

The board agrees on a Tulip Tree for Arbor Day, which will be held a Les Gove on April 19 at 11am.
VIII. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 3:00 pm.
