HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-04-2022 Minutes Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday, October 4, 2022 5:30 p.m. Virtual and In Person at Community & Event Center I. Call to Order 5:31 pm Present were Chair Michael Hassen; Members Peter Di Turi, Katie Helton. Department staff present were Parks Director Daryl Faber, Recreation Manager Kevin Witte, Parks Planning Manager Thaniel Gouk and Administrative Assistant Julie Mehl. II. Minutes The July minutes were approved. III. Committee Member Input IV. Correspondence/Public Input V. Old Business VI. New Business VII. Department Report Recreation Manager Kevin Witte reported on a successful summer which included increased summer scholarships, the Rec N Roll program, Outdoor Adventure programs and a variety of 8 weeks of summer camps. th Parks Planning Manager Thaniel Gouk reports on the 104 St project, the consultant is short staffed and project is on the calendar for 2023. The Arts & Culture Center cupola restoration is complete. A new roof has been installed, HVAC work has started. There have been break ins, hoping for opening in March or April. The Alleyway project is on hold due to Arts & Culture center construction. The Cedar Lanes bike track project is in the design phase, updated storm water report needed. Project will be completed by spring. Legacy Plaza will be completed by early November. Benches to be installed this week. The playgrounds at Fulmer & Auburndale to be completed in November. The PROS plan resident survey goes out today, submitted in 9 languages to target many ethnic groups. The City is debating insurance amounts for the Auburn Ave Theater. Would like to increase capacity and build new entrance. Bravo shows are being held at Green River College and the Auburn Golf Course. VIII. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 pm.
