HomeMy WebLinkAbout5699 RESOLUTION NO. 5699 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND ADMINISTER AGREEMENTS ACCEPTING GRANTS FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION FOR 6 PROJECTS: 1) E VALLEY HIGHWAY WIDENING, 2) R STREET SE AND 21ST STREET SE ROUNDABOUT, 3) 2023 CITY SAFETY PEDESTRIAN CROSSING ENHANCEMENTS, 4) A STREET LOOP, 5) C STREET SW PRESERVATION (W MAIN ST TO GSA SIGNAL), AND 6) LAKE TAPPS PARKWAY/SUMNER-TAPPS HWY E PRESERVATION WHEREAS, the City applied for, and has been awarded, competitive grants to fund six projects (Projects) that will design and construct improvements to the City's transportation systems; WHEREAS, the Projects are included in the City's Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) as follows: 1) E Valley Highway Widening (R-26); 2) R Street SE/21st Street SE Roundabout (1-10); 3) 2023 City Safety Pedestrian Crossing Enhancements (N-10); 4) A Street Loop (R-4); 5) C Street SW Preservation (W Main St to GSA Signal)(P-11); 6) Lake Tapps Parkway/Sumner-Tapps Hwy E Preservation (P-6); and WHEREAS, the total estimated grant funds awarded for the Projects are approximately $6,310,272 and the total local match required is approximately$2,706,128 Resolution No. 5699 January 30, 2023 Page 1 which are available from various City funds and other funding sources as shown in the TIP. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RESOLVES as follows: Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute administer six grant agreements with the Washington State Transportation of Transportation for a total of $9,016,400 or any other amount authorized by WSDOT for the Projects as long as local matching funds - are available. Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to negotiate, enter, and administer agreements to spend the grant funds for the Projects, and to implement other administrative procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force on passage and signatures. Dated and Signed this 6th day of February, 2023.
