A. Call to Order -Chairperson Ken Bradford
B. Review of August 14th, 2007 Minutes. Motion by Fred Helser and second
by Tom Hikida to accept August 13th, 2007 Minutes.
C. Old Business:
Chapel of Memories -Ribbon Cutting August 13, 2007 -The event
was a success with 45+ attendees. Niche sales are going well.
Katie Rowe MVI -Katie is back at the cemetery as of 09-04-2007.
D. New Business:
11 New Graves in 7th Addition (Centennial Circle) - As landscapes are
manicured, additional graves are being added to this section which was
nearly full. Other areas are being looked at in anticipation of gaining more
burial space.
10th Addition Development -The ground burial area next to the Chapel
of Memories will be addressed this fall. Specific design and plotting are
in the beginning phases.
Veterans Day -Staff will begin to focus attention on the Veterans. section
to make sure all markers are edged. Flags will be placed.
Stipps Meadow Development -Sewer Line - At this time, it appears
that the sewer line will run along Mountain View Drive and through View
Point Park. Specific timing is not known at this time.
Pictures on Crypt shutters -The cemetery board has given a verbal
approval to allow ceramic-steel photos on crypt shutters. This will create
a consistent and lasting means for memorialization. The board feels
photographs would be an additional source of revenue and would permit
us to monitor the quality of photos currently being taped to shutters.
Technology has increased in time to allow for an acceptable product fully
warranted against defects.
Expanded Mt. RainierView -The cemetery board has given their
approval to remove one tree in the 9th Addition to broaden the view
corridor within the section. This removal would take place within the next
year.
E. Reports:
Columbarium Update -Indoor niche sales are at $39,360.00 Outdoor
niche sales total $4,990.
Budget Update - As of the end of September, the cemetery was $70,000+
over projected revenue. Grave sales were at 25 (nearly twice the monthly
projection), marker sales were 16, with 2 niche sales.
Lakehaven Refund -Due to a meter error dating back to 2003, the
cemetery has been over billed for water usage. Lakehaven has advised us
that our refund will be over $33,000.00:
F. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 3:00 PM.
Respectfully submitted by Board Secretary
