MINUTES OF AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING oaoa
The regular meeting of the Airport Advisory Board was held February 4, 1999, in Conference
TIME: 7:30 AM
MEMBERS PRESENT: Dan Rollins, Bud Buchanan, Joe DeJoie, Rodger Campbell, and Alan Turnridge.
Tenant present: Paul Stoddard
STAFF PRESENT: John Anderson, Airport Manager; Carolyn Brown, Planning Secretary
The meeting was called to order by Dan Rollins- Chairman
Agenda Items: No agenda
Discussed the new fuel farm cards. Alan Turnridge would like to increase the amount of each fill-up on the
fuel card. John Anderson stated vandalism is the main concern for the low limit. Possibly change limit for
certain cards. Debit cards can be used also, as well as the Airport issued cards. Airport staff will also
repaint lines around the designated pull up areas to the fuel pumps. The re-striping will take place when it
is not so rainy. Airport will re-stripe parking lot and hanger area, also. Alan Turnridge asked if the Airport
staff could look into purchasing fiberglass ladders. The metal ladders currently in use scratch and skin up
the paint on the planes. Discussed cutting of the trees by the west side of the airport. At this time the
project has been set aside as the costs would be too high for the Airport to fund.
Hanger infi'astmcture work has been suspended for now due to the weather. Drainage in, sewer and electric
need to be done, also grading and fill for taxi lane. Contract is under negotiation with a consultant for bid
package for hangers. $20,000 fee to be part of bond issue.
Three-acre grassy field - John said discussion is under way to market the field directly north of the airport
office. Drainage is the big issue because of the shallow surface.
The piece of land on the west side of the Airport will not be incorporated into the Master Plan this year.
Discussed hanger at the south end of the field. Alan Tumridge's hanger is leaking. Scheduled for re-roof
this summer
Discussed locks for gates.
Discussed rate increase for hanger rent. John Anderson discussed how the increase is determined by the
price of airport land. Discussed fair market value.
Discussed the Ordinance regarding the Airport Advisory Board. Ordinance mandates one meeting per
month. Discussed possibly changing the ordinance. Dan Rollins proposed a semi annual evening meeting,
which would also include tenants. Discussed different meeting days and location (airport). Also, changing
the day of the month. John Anderson will talk to City Attorney as to legality of canceling a meeting.
Discussed insurance and John will meet with Finance Director.
GPS status - John Anderson still working on this. Discussed approach and departure procedure
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 am.
