HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-18-2004 Airport Advisory Board Minutes May 18, 2004 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. City Hall Room 1 Introductions: Members and Guest Attendance: Please Sign In Call to Order: Chairman Approval of Minutes Old Business: 1. Airport Management & Operations update - new staff, new equipment, new collection of rents working well. 2. Airport Facility Status a. 1 - Closed new hangars vacant, 0 open t-hangars, and two on waiting list. b. 42% occupancy on outside tie-down c. No info on status of HU or AP beginning phase two of their projects d. Reviewing current leases and the increases that are due or are past due e. New locking mailboxes installed f. Relocating the transient ramp, removal non-aviation storage items 3. Maintenance report a. Gates still having problems. Bids to come in on correcting the problems. 4. Airport Security Status - no reports submitted show any abnormal situations. The current contract expires at the end of May 2004. Will get some other bids and a current bid from current vendor. Any changes the AAB would like to see in the security at the airport? 5. FAA/GPS update - no information available due to no phone calls returned from the FAA 6. Runway Repairs & Schedule updates - Icon was the awarded the construction bid, WH Pacific will be the consultant on the project and AMG to also provide daily oversight. Pre construction meeting scheduled later this month with a schedule to be provided at that time. 7. Delinquent Tenant Account status - One delinquent in May. 8. Auburn Good Old Days o Have had two meetings (no May meeting) and looking at a one day event with static displays, Young Eagles EAA flights, music and vendors with a balloon glow from between 10 to 20 balloons starting at about sunset for 1 hour. The airport will be the site and will need to be closed for safety from about 8:30 p.m. to about 10:30 p.m. This includes the time to set up and remove the balloons. New Business 1. Commercial operators in City facilities, Utilities, change lease. Shelley and Jamelle to discuss this with Municipal Services and make a recommendation to the AAB. 2. ^MG to send out notice of the next meeting which is to be held at the airport and in the evening to allow tenants to attend.
