HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-19-2007Minutes of the Auburn Airport Advisory Committee June 19, 2007 8:00 a.m. Northwest Aviation College Classroom 1 Chair: Rodger Campbell Attendance: 'Rodger Campbell *Bob Myers *Lee Potter Shelley Coleman Jamelle Garcia Michael Shipman * Denotes AAB Member Called to order at 0800 Approval of minutes- First order of business was to approve May 2007 minutes. Motion was made, seconded and was unanimously passed that the minutes of May 2007 meeting are approved at this time. Old Business Mr. Garcia gave a report on the status of the instrument approach procedure for the Auburn airport. Mr. Fred Mitchell, FAA reported the approach is now scheduled for August 30, 2007. TrinityBRD has added the roof vents to the scope of working for the repairs to hangar rows 9 and 10. Still waiting for the request for bids to be prepared and then move forward with selection from small works roster. Mr. Garcia reported that an engineering consultant for the 2007/2008 taxiway improvement has been selected and the process of a third-party review was completed and the next step is for the agreement between the City of Auburn and Reid/Middleton to be approved by Council. Once this completed the consultant is prepare the request for qualifications of construction companies. Discussion regarding the current airport classification of B-1 Small to B-1 concluded the City should consider this as a viable option for further enhancement. Currently the construction is to begin June 2008. Wind indicators and airport signs grant monies have been approved by the State. Items have been ordered and the wind indicators have been installed. New Business Drafts of the proposed rules and regulations have been presented to Municipal Services Committee for their review. Additionally, the proposed rules and regulations will be forward to City of Auburn legal for review. Minimum Standards for Commercial Operators are prepared will be moving forward to Municipal Services Committee for their review. Discuss changing the meeting for July 2007 to an evening meeting with notice mailed to tenants. The AAB concluded that the July 17, 2007 meeting will be held in the evening. The meeting will be held at Auburn Flight Maintenance building at 6:OOP.M. Mr. Shipman reported that the City of Auburn has informed staff the addressing of the airport building and hangars is almost complete and the City will notify the appropriate people.
