Motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the minutes of February 17, 2009 minutes are approved at this time. Old Business Taxiway Construction 2007/2008 update - Garcia reported there is nothing new to report on the construction phase. Progress on grants applications through Reid Middleton for both Federal and State are on track. The State grant is being rewritten lowering the amount between now and the end of June 2009 and those dollars will be in the next grant request to the State. The State requires the work be completed prior to grant funding; since the coristruction is not scheduled to begin until June and would not be completed prior to the end of June 2009, the State requested the grant application reflect items completed before June 30, 2009. Storm Water Update - Garcia reported the document which was approved at the last meeting of the AAB is being prepared for review on the flooding situation at the north end of the airport. Hangar Rows 2-8 Condition Survey - Garcia reported that a meeting was held with Rupert Engineering and a review of the condition survey from Water & Woods was discussed along with alternatives. Coleman requested a visual map of the hangar rows 2-8 be created and use a color coding of red, yellow and green to give the City and the AAB members a better overview of the effected hangars. Discuss Installing Emergency Contact Information on all Hangars- This project is nearing completion and will be installed just inside the main gate on the Air Compressor building. The roof line will be extended slightly to protect it from the weather. Annual Review of Airport Rules and Regulations- Volunteers from the AAB are Mr. Kopp and Mr. Babcock. These AAB members and airport management will meet in April to begin reviewing the rules and regulations. Swap Meet/Yard Sale - Linda Eskesen from the airport introduced the concept and preliminary thoughts of a Swap Meet at the airport as part of a community outreach. Many tenants have items either in storage or in the hangars. She mentioned either the center area of the airport or if the size grew that the south end ramp could be used. This first year would be a simple one-day event. AAB agreed this seems to be a good opportunity for the airport as an outreach event. Pavement Damage Hangar Ramp Areas - Shipman reported that storm water drains had been damaged by recent rains, causing large holes in the airport ramp (pot holes) along with massive pavement cracks throughout the area. AMG received estimates to fix or repair these areas of concern and coordinate with the City for the repairs. Temporary repairs by airport management have removed any immediate failure or possible additional damage. Trade Show- Garcia reported airport staff attended the two day event and also Debbie Luce from Auburn Tourism attended Saturday. The event was well attended. Airport staff handed out Traffic Pattern information with additional information on services, rates and fees. Also information on the taxiway construction was made available. New Business: Hangar rentals down, wait list used up. Mr. Shipman reported the airport has two closed hangars unrented and 10 open hangars open unrented. The airport has gone through the waiting list twice and no one is interested to renting any of the hangars at this time. Many on the wait list are now being removed either by request or person on the waiting list has declined 3 or, more times. Discussion continued about how to attract tenants to the airport, promotional ideas and additional advertising. MAI Appraisal for 2010. Garcia reported that 2010 is the year for the leased properties to be adjusted by a MAI appraiser. Garcia reported staff has contacted other airports for recommendations and contact will be made and a recommendation brought back to the AAB for recommendation to the City. Discussion regarding Sky Raiders request to operate model aircraft. The City has requested the AAB re-visit the inquiry from Sky Raiders, a model line-controlled aircraft club for possible use of airport facilities. The AAB discussed the situation and will have airport management prepare a request for additional information detailing exactly what the club is requesting. Open Discussion: None Meeting was adjourned at 9:28 am. Respectfully submitted, Airport Management Group, LLC On behalf of the City of Auburn
