Al~ ORDINANCE Creating, and providing fo~ the appointment of,
a board of three (3) park commissioners for the City of Auburn, and
prescribin0 certain powers of such board.
;~IEREAS The City of Auburn is acquiring a public park, consisting
of approximately 13.70 acres, within the corporate limits of said city,
and is about to maintain such tract of land as a public park;
Now, therefore, the City Council of the City of Auburn do ordain
as follows:
Section 1. ~hat there is hereby created a board of three (3)
park co~nissiopers in and for the City of Auburn; and that such
park commissioners shall be appointed by the Mayor of said city, and
such appointments shall be subject to confinuation by the City Council.
Section 2. 1hat such board of park commissioners shall have con-
trol and supervision of all parks belonging to the City of Auburn,
and shall have power to prescribe rules and regulations for the gov-
ern.-nent and management thereof; and that such rules and regulations
shall be enforced by the police department of the City of Auburn.
Such bo~d of park commissioners may exercise such other powers, if
any, as~of may be expressly granted to such board by the general
laws of the State of Washington. Said board of park commisbioners
shall not, however, have any power or authority to contract any in-
debtedness on behalf of the City of Auburn without first being ex-
pressly authorized so to do by the City Council. Such board of
park commissioners shall serve without compensation.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be ih force
five (5) days from and after its passage and approval and publication
as required by law. ~
