ORJIDANCE NO. 633
AN ORDINANCE relating to the use of side walks,
prohibiting obstructions thereon or over-hanging same, and
providing penalties for violations hereof.

SECTIOt 1: All side walks in tbe public streets,
alleys and. places of tbe vi t2 of Aubu:rn, for the full width
tbereof, are exclusivel:, for tLe ase of pedestrians, and shall
be used for no other purpo seiibat so ever except as hereinafter
provided.

firm or corporation, or for any agent, representative, servant
or employee tbereof, tn i'te posi t, place, erect or ,laintain, or
cause tJ be .ieposited, placed, erected or maintained, upon any
s ide Halle 10 cated in any public stre et, alley or place 0 f the
City of Auburn, or upon any portion of such side Walk, any
bench, chair, rack, stand, structure, sign, merchandise or othE:r
object, or to 'place, erect, 01' :naintain, or Colusa to be placed,
erected Jr r:laintained, over such side walk, or over any portion
of such sidevialk, an;y structure, sign Dr 0 ther.b j ect at such
heighth or in such marmer as to prevent or interfere wi th the
" free and unobstructed use of all of such side walk_ by pedestrian2.
SECTIon 3: The provisions of this ordinance shall not
prohibit the placing or maintaining signs, nDtices Dr orders
of the vi ty Councilor the po li ce de lJartment 0 f the Gi t~/ 03 f
Auburn, or flags Df the United .:Jtates of America, on side v!Talks,
near the curb, by or under tbeli:.cection of the chief of pDlice,
or the expeditious moving of freight and rnercb~mdise, in the
loading or unloading thereof, across side 0alks with the least
possible obstruction to the free use of such side walks by
pedestrians.

ing the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a
