HomeMy WebLinkAbout727 , ~ . r OODINANCE NO. 727 AN OODINANCE. declAring !l. public emergency to exist requiring the expenditure from the Current Expense Fund of the City of Auburn, for maintena..nce and operation of the fire department of sa.id city for the yea.r 1932. of moneys not provided for in the budget for the year 1932, estimating the a.mount of moneys required to meet such emergency, and directing that emergency warrants be drawn upon the Current Ex:pense Fund of the City of Auburn to meet such expenditures. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN DO ORDAIN AS FOLLC1.'1S: '-.. section 1. That the following are facts: The budget of est1ma.ted expenditures from the Current Expense Fund of the City of Auburn dur ing the ye~r 1932 for, ms.inteznnce and operation of the fire de~rtment of saM city, which budget was duly adopted b~ the City Council in October, 1931, oontains the following item: 'l.il.intenanoe and Operation, $2,282.70". Of said sum of $2,282.70, only about $18.50 remains unexpended. During the year 1932 there have been in Auburn many mare fire alarms than were anticipated when the budget for 1932 wa.s e.dopted and passed and the oity has been oompelled to expend in overhauling its fire truck more moneys than were oontemplated at the time of the adoption of said budget. The neoessity far suoh additional expenditures in paying volunteer firemen for responding to fire alArms and for paying for overhauling the fire truok could not have been reasonably foreseen in October, 1931, when the oity budget for the year 1932 was adopt ed. That by rea.son of the foregoing faots an emergenoy exists re,!uiring the expenditure during the year 1932. from the Currllnt Ex:pense Fund of the City of Auburn, for maintenance and opera.tion' of the fire de:par~ment of sa.id city during the year 1932 of an estimated sum of $400.00 in excess of the sum of $2,282.70 provided for in the said budget of expenditures for me.intenance and operation of the fire department during the year 1932. Section 2. That emergency warrants be drawn on the Current Expense Fund of the City of Auburn in payment for the maintenance and operation of the fire department of the City of Auburn in such amounts as my be necessary for such proper maintenance and operation, the total amount of such emergency warrant s, however, not to exc eed the sum of $400.00.
