( Q~ ~~o OI2D 2.\ 11 '. r ORDINANCE no. 755 AN ORDINAIICE relating to city printing and advertising; pro- viding that the City Clerk shall annually in the month of December of each year publish a notice in the newspaper then doing the city advertising calling for sealed bids for the doing of such city adver- tising and. printing for the ensuing fiscal year beginning January 1: providing that the City of Auburn shall annually award the contract for the doing of such city advertising and printing for the ensuing year to such newspaper printed and published in the City of Auburn as shall be found to be the lowest bidder in response to such 00.11 for b ids and repealing Ordinanoe No. 487 of- the ordinances of the City of Auburn. . .~EAS Section 9145 of Remington's Compiled Statutes of \'/ashington, 1922, provides as follows: "The city oouncil shall annually, at a stated time, contract for doing all city printing and advertising, which contract shall be let to the lowest bidder after notice as provided in this section. All advertising shall be done in a newspaper printed and published in such city, and the contract therefor shall be awarded sep:l.rately from all the other printing;" and \,[HEREA.S more than one year has elapsed since the City of Auburn issued a call for bids for the doing of the city printing and advertising of said city, and. it is now deemed expedient that the contract for the doing of such advertising shall cover the fiscal year beginning on January I of each year: NO\,[, THEREFORE, THE CITY C OIJNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN DO ORDATIr AS FOLLOVlS: Section 1. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall cause to be published, not later than the 15th day of December, 1933, in the newspaper nOW doing the oity advertising for said city a notice calling for sealed bids for the doing of the city advertising and printing of said city for the ensuing year beginning on January 1, 1934, which notice shall state that such sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk u,p to 8:0 o'clock P. H. of the 19th day of December, 1933. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall annually hereafter, on or before the 5th day of December, cause to be published in the newsp:l.per then doing the city advertising for said city a notice calling for sealed bids for the doing of city advertising and printing of said city for the next following ensuing year, which net ice shall sta te that such sealed b ids will be rece ived by the City Clerk up to 8:00 o'clOCk P. li. of the day of the second regular meet- ing of the city council to be held in said mOnth of December. One publication ofl said notice shall be sufficient. Section 2. Such sealed bids shall be opened in the presence of the city council at a regular meeting thereof. The city council shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to re-advertise in it s discret ion. Section 3. The city counoil shall at its regular meeting to be held on the 19th day of Decemb~r, 1933, or as soon thereafter as the lowest bidder in response tDr~%uCh call for sealed bids can be conveniently determined, let the contraot for doing the city advertising for the ensuing year to the newspaper printed and publish- ed in the city of Auburn submitting the lowest sealed bid therefor.
