Place: Northwest Aviation College A quorum was esta.blished.and the minutes of March 16, 2010 approved. Since there was no quorum the Airport Advisory Board Minutes of Apri120, 2010 will be stated as `notes' instead of `minutes'. Airport Storm Water Design Update: Ms. Coleman reports that a desigri from Reid Middleton had been received and reviewed by storm water engineers. Storm water engineers have met with Don Barclay from Reid Middleton and discussed additional needs for a survey that includes mapping, measurements and slope. Ms. Coleman continued to say that Reid Middleton will now re-evaluate the additional needs of the City's Storm Water Department Engineers and come up with a finalized quote, which will likely be above the original estixnate. Once completed, City Storm Water engineers will deterinine the best'way to remedy west side water accumulation and north.end flooding. Any improvement plans would then be sent to Municipal Services and Public works. Surveying could possibly begin by mid July. Bi-Annual Review of the Airport Rules and Regulations: Mr. Garcia and Mr. Shipman met with Assistant City Attorney, Steve Gross and reyiewed current and proposed changes. It was suggested that the City of Auburn adopt ehanges as administrative instead of changes as they relate to Auburn City Code. Mr. Garcia, and Mr. Shipman will meet with Mr. Gross and discuss a process for addressing tenant violations of the Rules and Regs. Ms: Coleman requested a review of condo association leases, which have private gate entrances for which the Gity does not maintain or dispense access cards or codes. This review will determine the City's right to mairitain total security of Airport property as it relates to gate control and access. Renton Municipal Airport will be contacted asking how they handle penalties ~ , for violations. Ms. Coleman asked to be invited to the next meeting with Mr. Gross and Airport Management regazding this issue. Hangar Rows 9&10 Roofs An earlier meeting last week was held and the three roofing options were reviewed for the north end hangars. The most economical system appears to be the `Single Seam Top Layer' wluch would be installed with clips above the current roof. This roofing repair was chosen because of the minimal disturbance to tenants and users of the airport, it's estimated to have no loss of revenue to the airport fund and this design will allow water to flow directly into gutters having no impediment from fasteners or seams. This roof design has a 35-50 year product warranty and an installation warranty of one yeaz. Mr. Garcia, Ms. Coleman and Mr. Burke will obtain additional specs from R&M Steel and put the project out for bid. It was requested byMs"Coleman that Mr. Garcia produce a report of references on the product, local installers and customers who have had this type of roofing installed. This project should be out to bid by July with construction beginning in August. : Vacant Positions on the AAB Mr. Garcia gave a brief summary of the three applicants for the vacant AAB position. A motion was unanimously made that Mr. Anderson be recommended to Mayor Lewis to fill that vacancy. Runway Lighting replacement Project Ms. Coleman reports this project has gone out for bid. A pre-bid meeting was held last week attended by Airport Managements, Reid Middleton Engineer Approximately 10 different companies were represented.A Federal grant for the project has been approved by the FAA with funding to likely happen in August or as released by Congress; subsequently construction should start late August or September. Storm Water Pond/Netting Issues Ms: Coleman received the following from Dan Repp, a City Utilities Engineer. The schedule for the Airportpond improvemenfs are as follows: design work complete by mid July, project goes out to bid beginning of August and construction to be complete by mid October. The scope of the project includes excavating and grading the ponds back to their original dimensions and installing bird netting. This project is part of the annual storm drainage repair and replacement program and will be funded by the Storm Water Department... Sfanding Water on the west side - As discussed previously; (Storm,water design) pipe mapping and.elevation surveying is necessary to determine the cause and accumulation of standing water on the west side and airport flooding issues during heavier rain events. MAI Appraisa9 on select airport property " The MAI report from Allen, Brackett & Shedd has been received and reviewed by Ms. Coleman and Mr:Garcia. Some discrepancies were noted in the report and it has been returned to Allen, Brackett and Shedd for the corrections. New Business: Super Unicom Mr. Shipmari reports "the antennae was extended on the Super Unicom and has proved fairly effective for its intended purpose of broadcasting wind and runway conditions Line Controlled Aircraft A good turn out for the line controlled aircraft event by SkyRaiders, Saturday May 15t', 2010 at the south end of the airport was reported by Mr. Shipman. Three more events will be held in the next few months. Mr. Garcia will talk with Mr. Ferguson (SkyRaiders) and Ms. Luce (Auburn Tourism Board) about advertisement of the additional events through the tourism board. Comments Class Bravo Airspace 1VIr. Garcia reported that he was a member of the Adhoc committee for-the review .of the Class B airspace around SeaTac airport. Mr. Garcia was able to address the 1,600 foot base,just east of the Auburn Airport and a recommendation to the FAA will include: raising that base to 1,800 feet.
