Place: City Hall Annex Building, Conference Rooml, Second Floor The chair made introduction of Mr. Bob Jones newest member of the Airport Advisory Board. Mr. Jones is completing the unexpired term of Mr. Lee Porter. A motion was made by Mr. Osborne and seconded by Mr. Myers to accept the Minutes of the March 16, 2011 meeting, A request was made and accepted to receive reports by Mr. Carlaw and Mr. Anderson out of order. Tim Carlaw, Storm Drainage Engineer for the City, of Auburn, distributed a report from Reid Middleton concerning the Auburn Municipal Airport drainage inventory (item #1 on the matrix). Mr. Carlaw suggested that the storm water drain west side of 30th street may'not be working optimally and is scheduled to be TV'dby the City. Old Business: State-of Washington Dept. of Ecology Inspection Mr. Chris Anderson, Environmental Protection Manager for the City of Auburns said several solutions are being considered.to accommodate a wash rack area for the airport. Som suggestions include; connecting to the sewer, relocating the wash rack to a different area or:installing a rain gardlen which utilizes a mix of soils and plants to rapidly drain surface water. Mr. Anderson will provide cost effective ideas to discuss at the next meeting. The wash rack project will be added to the matrix. Northwest Skyraiders Mr. Garcia has spoken with Peter Ferguson,, manager of the Skyraiders and states they may want to use the airport south end area more frequently than firstexpected. Mr. Shipman has prepared an MOU and it has been sent to legal for review. US EPA air.monitoring update Mr. Shipman reports the DOE is reviewing placement for a lead monitoring device and have stated a preference for the south end. Monitoring at the south end means power for operating the monitor would need to be installed. Once in place the samplingwould be done once 'a week for 24 hours. Policy on "storage" and parking of autos Airport staff receives numerous requests about parking vehicles for a period of time at the airport. A discussion of this matter concluded that ten (10) parking spaces to the north of the airport office will be used for this purpose at a cost of $50.00'per:month plus leasehold tax. A-motion'was made and seconded and unanimously approved that courtesy parking be adopted and recommend to the City. FAA Master Plan Update . Mr. Garcia said several companies, had-been contacted about doing the update; of those, Century West and CH2M Hill are available to come out-and bid the project. The' airport layout plan is-updated every ten years and is crucial for any FAA future funding to enhance the airport. New Business Lighting replacement in hangar rows 9 & 10 with LED Mr. Shipman shared his completed cost comparison.between using kilowatt bulbs and LED lighting. The LED lights would be more cost effective over a long period of time'and brighter than the existing lights. Airport Management will fundthis project. Review of-Matrix for Airport Projects Open Discussion A suggestion was made to consider Aviation Events for the Auburn Airport for 2012 in cooperation with the Auburn Tourism Board. The Airport will participate in the City of Auburn Clean Sweep. Meeting adjourned at 9:48 A.M.
