A motion was made and seconded to accept the Airport Advisory Board Minutes of the March 21, 2012 and March 29,
2012 special meeting. Corrections to the Matrix are the following; add closure of Northwest Aviation College as #19
and Auburn Airport Brochure as #20.
Old Business:
Update on Hangar Row Roof Project, row 9 &10 - Steve Burke, Facilities Project Manager distributed a Gantt chart
and discussed the steps of the roofing project beginning with the bid document preparation through project
completion. A suggestion was made that someone from the AAB reviews the specs. Mr. Burke and Mr. Garcia will
schedule a meeting to discuss the project.
Wash Rack Progress - After molding is installed, the wash rack will be complete reported Mr. Garcia.
Leasing of the 2131 office /hangar space update - Marke Schwartz of Airtech Instrument Co., Inc. has committed to
leasing the office and hangar.
New Business:
Report of GRCC tour of 506 building - Green River Community College Aviation Department toured the building and
found the size inadequate, since they want to relocate the entire flight program off campus. Mr. Garcia will create a
white paper listing options for GRCC to come to the airport and suggested GRCC add a maintenance program to their
curriculum. Other possible use for the building might be; a satellite helicopter base for Classic Helicopter at Boeing
Field, or training facility for Boeing or other aeronautical business. Airport Management Group prepared and
distributed a document concerning future pilot and AMT (aviation maintenance technician) shortage forecast.
Airport Fund Financial Report 2011 - A copy of the financial report was distributed and reviewed. The Advisory
Board recognized Airport Management Group for their accomplishments.
Discussion:
The matrix was reviewed.
A suggestion was made to invite Doug Lein, City of Auburn Economic Development Manager to the next AAB meeting
to discuss the Orion Project.
Meeting adjourned at 9:28 A.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Airport Management Group, LLC
On behalf of the City of Auburn
