Special City Council Meeting

I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Nancy Backus called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street in Auburn.
A. Roll Call
Councilmembers present: Deputy Mayor Claude DaCorsi, Bob Baggett,
Larry Brown, James Jeyaraj, Robyn Mulenga, Chris Stearns and Yolanda
Trout-Manuel.
Department directors and staff members present included: City Attorney
Kendra Comeau, Director of Community Development Jeff Tate, Director
of Finance Jamie Thomas, Director of Innovation and Technology David
Travis, Director of Public Works Ingrid Gaub, Development Services
Manager Jason Krum, Planning Services Manager Jeff Dixon, Code
Compliance Supervisor Chris Barack, Development Engineer Manager
Steve Sturza, Director and Chief of Police Dan O'Neil and Deputy City
Clerk Teresa Mattingly.
II. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. City Organizational Overview- Community Development
Director Tate, Manager Dixon, Manager Krum and Supervisor Barack
introduced themselves to Council and reviewed their education, experience
and years with the City. They also discussed the divisions in the
Community Development Department and provided an overview of what
each division does and goals for 2020.
Council discussed how electronic plans are reviewed, how climate change
impacts code requirements and how the City works with the Muckleshoot
Tribe on various projects.

III. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
was adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
