HomeMy WebLinkAbout5575 (3) RESOLUTION NO. 5575 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND ADMINISTER AN AGREEMENT ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT BOARD FOR THE 4th STREET SE PRESERVATION PROJECT WHEREAS, the City's Arterial Street Preservation program restores and preserves classified streets throughout the City with the implementation of preservation projects; and WHEREAS the 4th Street SE Preservation Project ("Project") includes restoration and preservation of pavement on 4th Street SE, a classified street, from Auburn Way South to L Street SE; and WHEREAS, the City applied for, and has been awarded, a competitive grant in the amount of $1 ,747,572 from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board ("TIB") to help fund the Project ("TIB grant"); and WHEREAS, the TIB grant requires the City to provide matching funds in the estimated amount of $1 ,165,048; and WHEREAS, the required matching funds have been made available in the approved City budget; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to use grant monies to help finance the City's street preservation programs. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RESOLVES as follows: Resolution No. 5575 December 4, 2020 Page 1 Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute and administer a grant agreement with the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board for$1 ,747,572 or any other amount authorized by the Board for the 4th Street SE Preservation Project as long as matching City funds are available. Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to negotiate, enter, and administer agreements to spend the grant funds for the Project, and to implement other administrative procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force on passage and signatures. Dated and Signed this 4th day of January, 2021 .
