MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Nancy Backus called the meeting to order at 2:02p.m. The meeting was
held virtually. Fire Relief and Pension Board Members present included Mayor
Backus, Finance Director Thomas, Fire Relief and Pension retiree Bill Petersen.
Fire Relief Pension retiree Bob Wigley was excused.
III Election of Board Members
A. The City Clerk announced she received one nomination for the 2021-2022
Fire Relief and Pension Board position. The nomination was for Member Bill
Peterson. Since there were no additional nominations no election was held
and Member Peterson will serve as a Fire Relief and Pension Board Member
for a term to expire December 31, 2022.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Minutes of the October 6, 2020 Fire Relief and Pension Board meeting.
Motion by Member Petersen, second by Director Thomas to approve the
October 6, 2020 minutes.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0
III. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
There was no unfinished business.
IV. NEW BUSINESS
A. Approval of Claims
Board Members briefly reviewed fund expenses. Fire pension Benefits in
the amount $52,997.17 for the period of September 16, 2020 to December
31, 2020 and healthcare benefits in the amount of$8,626.08.
Motion by Member Petersen, second by Director Thomas to approve the
expenses of the Fire Relief and Pension Fund.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0
B. Director Thomas informed the Board pension increases did not go into
effect as scheduled on January 1, 2021. The pensioners have received a
retro payment and it is now on track.

V. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Fire Relief and Pension
Board, the meeting adjourned at 2:08 p.m.
